ENVIROLIGHT ES 57 SPECIFICATION

Luminaire will be of high-energy efficiency to be used on 230V AC system.

Compliance with Standards:

The Luminaire must comply with the following standards:

SANS 60598-1:2007 “Luminaires; General requirements and tests”
IP 66 rating

The Manufacturer must be certified to ISO 9001 as well as ISO 14000

Lamp Specification:

Lamp used will be a 57 watt Compact Fluorescent type with an output of 4300 lumen.

The Colour rendering of the lamp (Ra) will be better than 81.

The rated lamp life will be at least 12 000 hours if switched once every 3 hours and typically 20 000 hours if switched once every 24 hours.

The lamp output will be within 15% of rated value over lamp life.

The lamp will re-strike immediately at power restoration following a power failure or voltage dips.

Ballast Specification

The luminaire will be fitted with electronic ballast rated 230 volt operating on 50/60 Hz.

The line current will be 0.26 Amps

The ballast should be able to operate with the lamp striking within the temperature range from -30C to 75C.

The ballast should have an expected life of 100 000 hours

Ballast shall be Programmed Rapid Start.

Ballast shall incorporate lamp shutdown circuitry for end of lamp life protection.

Ballast shall allow for re-lamping without the need to cycle power.

Ballasts shall operate from 50/60 Hz input source with no damage to the ballast.

Ballast shall be of metal can construction to meet all plenum requirements and to eliminate the need for extra grounding wires

Ballasts shall be a high frequency electronic type, and operate lamps at a frequency above 40 kHz to minimize interference

Lamp Current Crest Factor (ratio of peak to RMS current) shall be 1.7 or less in accordance with lamp manufacturer recommendation and ANSI C82.11-1993.

Ballasts shall tolerate operation in ambient temperatures up to 55°C without damage.

Ballasts shall have a maximum case temperature test point of 75°C printed on the label for easy fixture testing and trouble shooting.

Ballast shall have a maximum case temperature rise of 15°C.

Ballasts shall comply with FCC Part 18 Non-Consumer Equipment for EMI (power line conducted) and RFI (Radiated).

Ballasts shall provide transient immunity as recommended by ANSI C62.41-2002.

Ballasts shall operate lamps with no visible flicker (<3% flicker index).

Ballasts shall tolerate sustained open and short circuit output conditions without damage.

Ballasts shall be listed, Class P, Type 1 Outdoor, and CSA certified and unless noted otherwise, approved for use in hazardous locations (Type HL).

Input current Total Harmonic Distortion shall not exceed 10%.

Ballasts shall have a Power Factor greater than 0.99

The manufacturer shall provide written warranty against defects in material or workmanship, including replacement, for three years from date of manufacture.

Manufacturer shall have been manufacturing electronic ballasts for at least fifteen years.

Ballast shall be manufactured in an ISO 9001 Certified Facility.

General Luminaire Specification

The luminaire shall be a full cut-off type resulting in no spill light.

The luminaire shall be of the type to accommodate a standard 42mm spigot.

The luminaire shall be fitted with tools free terminals for the connection of the live, neutral and earth connections.

It shall be fitted with an isobaric seal between compartments to prevent pressure build up between the IP66 compartments.

The fitting shall be designed with an internal daylight switch and internal 500mA circuit breaker as optional extras.

The luminaire shall have a maximum weight of 5kg.

The reflector shall be of a multifaceted type and the whole inner area of the luminaire housing must be an integral reflector with a minimum reflectance of 92%.

The luminaire shall be fitted with automatic power disconnection to the lamp terminals on opening.

5 stainless steel clips will secure the lid of the luminaire.

All metalwork of the luminaire will be stainless steel.

The housing, base and bulkhead will be manufactured from a mineral filled UV stabilized Polypropylene while the reflector and lamp holder shall be of polycarbonate.

The lens must be constructed of an acrylic polymer with lifelong guarantee against dis- coloration.

The luminaire must be about 695 mm long, 400mm wide and 170mm deep.

Light Output Requirement

The luminous intensity in the vertical plane 0-180 should peak at 67.5 up from vertical at a value of at least 450 cd/klm.

The maximum luminous intensity shall be at the vertical plane of 15-165 and shall be at least 530 cd/klm at an angle of about 68 up from vertical.
