Magazine readers today rely on the technical correctness of the articles they read. In many instances these articles are in fact advertorials designed to ensure the promotion of a company’s proprietary products to the detriment of proper editorial and provide biased or misleading information in relation to opposition products. This is particularly prevalent in lamp life representations, where, due to the cost of certain technologies, they use long lamp life to show a return on investment and compete with other products.
